Crossbody/Belt bag Free Crochet Pattern
Wouldn’t you like to knit the trendy trendy waist bags yourself recently? Very stylish and very useful. Let’s start knitting immediately.
Although a crocheted bag is worked with the same size crochet hook, the finished size maybe significantly different from another bag crocheted with the same crochet hook size.
It is the style of crocheting (loose or tight) that really has a large impact on the final result.
The models shown are crocheted as well with double as with single thread respectively.
The advantage of double thread is that the bag becomes strong, thick and will keep the shape.
The liner can be skipped, but for the finest finish, we recommend not to forego this step.
The advantage of the single thread is that the bag becomes light – however not so strong.
To give the bag more strength and shape stability, we highly recommend sewing in a
lining in felt for example.

Attach the thread in the beginning of the front part (row 16).
Work dc all over the edge of the front part.
Try to gain about 90 dc (38 dc one side, 14 dc at the bottom, 38 dc on the other side).
Continue with dc around the edge (back of the bag).
Put the front and the bag together with needles/markers.
Crochet the two parts together with slip stitches.
Final lace edge
To make the lace edge work 1 dc, 3 ch, 3 dc, 3 ch.
Bind off the threads.
The crochet part of the bag has now been completed and it is ready for assembly and the
adding of lining, zipper, straps etc.
Good to know
Hook Size & Tension
Crocheters crochet very differently: some crochet with a
hook size 2,0 and obtain the same size of design and
quality as a person who crochets with a hook size 4,0.
We owe this knowledge to the team of crocheters who
join us for all our bags.
The key to crochet a specific size is a lot about the crochet style/hands/skills, rather than the size of hook
– therefore, we will recommend a range of hook sizes.
